David Andersson, guitarist for Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork, died at the age of 47.
Sadly alcohol and mental illness took you away from us, according to a statement from Soilwork.
The band wrote on social media that they were sad about the passing of David Andersson. He was a genius in many ways. He was the guitarist for more than a decade and had a big impact on the musical journey of Soilwork.
We will carry the musical legacy that he was a part of. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family.

The band’s latest album vergivenheten arrived through Nuclear Blast just a month ago, and was Andersson’s fourth studio album.
On 19 August, 2022. Anderrson played the piano and bass in the band.
