Self-taught musician Allie Jade finds balance in music career

A self-taught musician, one-woman band, video producer, promoter, and merchandise designer is all in one.

After being inspired to play her family’s broken, two- stringed guitar as a child, Jade is pursuing her dream to play rock like the Goo-Goo Dolls and Nirvana.

Jade said that it snapped in his head that it was what he wanted to do.

Jade doesn’t have a single teacher aside from a few band teachers. She plays a lot of instruments and sings a lot of songs.

It’s been a long time since it happened. Jade said that he has been putting a lot of work into it.

She bought a T-shirt press to make her merchandise, and films, edits, and produces all of her music videos, which she feels are important for people to see her music.

When it comes to her original songs, she likes to experiment and float around in almost every rock genre.

Jade’s 11 currently released songs are all individual songs and do not belong to a project. Jade wants to get her name out by having a physical project to give out at her shows.

Jade gets inspiration at times like at the dentist, airport, grocery store and so on.

She said she has random lyrics in her head. I don’t always have a full song here. She said that she would just write a single line down and then go about her life.

She has notebooks filled with notes, lyrics, and stream-of-consciousness “word vomit” which she uses to write verse.

As soon as it hits me, I need to write this down. After I finish writing it down, I can return to it later. It’s there all the time.

Jade wants to take her career to the next level, but she needs to balance her passion and desire with her career. She felt like she was running out of time to get where she wanted to be.

Jade said she wants to be somewhere before she’s 30 because she started rushing everything after she turned 25. Right now, I’m trying to find that. Is that still the case?

Making it in the music industry is not a sprint and Jade knows not to overwork herself.

Jade said that she tries to prioritize rest whenever she has time for it. It’s been crucial. I’ve learned that I have been working so hard that I can’t do anything for a while.

Jade realized after a few years that she was going about it the wrong way and needed to plan more for the long term.

Jade said that it all at the end of the day was about the passion itself and not where you end up.

She also has music on her social media. Her website is aura ofhorror.

Jade plays Murphy’s Bar in Barryton at 8 pm. There was a Saturday on September 24.
