There were performances by Barker, Jack Harlow and Steve Aoki at the shows.
Many designers stayed in the safety of young, thin and Eurocentric beauty standards despite the fact that there is hope for diversity.
The main course of a week that officially launched Sept. 9 included the Fashion Row Fashion Show and the Style Awards. The week included street styles, exclusive parties, and design innovation before concluding with a Tom Ford runway.
Hudson says the energy was great. It felt like fashion week was back.

Seen: Sheer everything and the return of the nipple
The model walked the runway in a brown and orange skirt.

The models wore sheer dresses. The show was supposed to be provocative and sexy, according to the press release.
The debut of “The DRE$$,” which made transparent the impact of the gender pay gap and the retirement savings gap, was the highlight of Fe Noel’s Spring/ Summer offerings.

Heard: Designers detail diversity efforts
I think a lot of people in the industry are still not there. People thought that diversity was a trendy thing. We can’t only have Precious Lee, she’s been in my shows for a long time, but that’s not enough. People need to pick it up a bit.
Janet Jackson is opening New York Fashion Week.
Cohen says it’s crucial to see all different types of body shapes and colors being represented. The conversation is happening internally to lay the groundwork to include more customers in our world.
Models with fine hair texture and distressed buns were included in the mood board for the spring/ summer show by the designer. The No. 7 Bonding Oil is a must have for all hair. He could either pull back the bun or replicate it for models with box braids. It looks like it took less than a second.

A group of emerging high- fashion designers were given the chance to showcase their pieces at the Black in Fashion Council Discovery Showroom. There were silk masterpieces, dynamic silhouettes, colorful pleats and sustainable options in the designs.

Seen: Creative, unlikely venues
A$AP Illz and 14n1 collaborated to turn a housing project into a runway in New York City.
When it’s beautiful, who wouldn’t want to be in court? The designer went back to downtown to see the sun shining through the skylights and archways.
Tommy Hilfiger was supposed to create a collection for the average city walker. The backdrop of the city was used to frame the models for the show.

As he celebrated “timeless” silhouettes with his collection, Christian Siriano chose the Elizabeth Collective, a place that will always evoke the idea of style.
Heard: Photographers getting the perfect shot
A photographer said “You’re in our shot” before the opening dress walked down the runway. As the room anticipated the latest collection, the audience laughed.
Seen: Stars galore chatting, partying
The two women were talking about their outfits provided by the fashion label. Ziwe told Hall that her outfit was very comfortable.
There was a list of celebrities that partied at the fashion week event.
Celebs attend a star studded party at a store.
Latto wore form-fitting looks for her front row appearances.
Current and former members of the “Real Housewives” franchise attended events and sat front row to see the fashions.
The “Euphoria” star got behind the wheel of a golf cart and drove back through the venue’s gate as photographers surrounded her.
Seen: Denim, denim, denim
During the showcase of the A$AP Illz + 14n1 clothing collection show, there were tufts of yarn and screen printing. The jeans were ripped and adorned with circles of yarn but also contained iconography screenprints of bank logos and handguns to promote the idea of “more fashion less gun violence.”

A few versions of designer denim popped up, including an elevated Canadian tuxedo, wide-legged jeans and a buttoned-up two piece set.
During Harlem’s Fashion Row’s designer showcase, Clarence Ruth showed a dark blue denim and leather look, a one-armed denim vest and leather-patch jeans.
Heard (and felt): The weather
After the show which featured bright colors and resort-like fashion perfect for vacationing one attendee said they needed some color.
The outdoor show went on despite the rain. One person remarked how “humbling” it was to equalize both celebrities and guests. The experience was not like that of an elite person.
The sun came up just in time for the rooftop show on the tennis court-inspired runway, even though attendees were nervous that Sunday’s rain would continue.

The Maisie Wilen runway was closed by Emhoff, who wore a ball gown.
After some time away from the runway, the model closed the show to applause.

Seen: Cutouts and crochet
Altuzarra had colorful “Shibori tie-dye” knit dresses with cutouts.
Black boy knits, what’s in a name? Jacques Agbobly’s knitwear is a physical representation of his past, present, and future.

The designer included crochet bags filled with fruit into the mix.
The collection consisted of bags, cutout skirts, and a multicolored two-piece looped knit set.
Heard: Beyoncé, Travis Barker, more provide soundtrack to runways
The Tommy Hilfiger runway had two songs mixed into a DJ set. Everyone did their final lap as Barker played a live drum solo.
Some of the songs from Steve Aoki’s upcoming album, “HiroQUEST: Genesis”, were played at his New York City party. Aoki used to make rock music before he became a DJ. He says that there is a lot of Latin music, hip hop, even country, and of course, the core electronic dance music.
The ’80s were back in action at Hudson’s show. The era extended to the music, with songs like “Got to Be Real” and “I Want Her” being played before the show started.

Seen: Barbiecore isn’t going anywhere
The closing gown of the Markarian show filled spectators’ pupils with a sharp pink, close to the one set forth by the FW 2022-2023 collection. The off-the-shoulder dress was extended to a full skirt with a layer of pink.
If PatBO has something to say about it, hot pink will be around for another season. There were pink dresses, skirts and fringe that came out of the dollhouse and onto the runway.

The models stood in place surrounded by fake foliage and manufactured rain while wearing brightly colored Kate Spade dresses and bags, one of which was a signature Barbie pink A-line dress. There is a pink shoe with a pom pom on the toe.
This year was no different for LoveShackFancy. I am a huge fan of Barbiecore. Cohen says that he is like the biggest pink lover and that seeing it finally having such a moment feels fun.
