There is a new facility in the Ontario County village of PHELPS, thanks to a partnership between the National Fitness Campaign and MVP Health Care.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of the fitness court.
The open-air fitness court behind the community center allows users to use their own body weight to get a complete workout. The workouts are designed for people over the age of 14 and allow users to move at their own pace. The free Fitness Court app can be downloaded and used to transform the outdoor gym into a digitally supported well-being experience.
The executive director of the community center said that they were excited to offer a path for free healthy lifestyles. The goal is to live better.
Chris Del Vecchio, president and CEO of MVP Health Care, said that the launch of the fitness court was a step towards providing access to resources that can change the trajectory of someone’s health and wellbeing journey.
