
According to Matt Smith, Queen Elizabeth II used to watch “The Crown” on TV.
Smith talked about the time he met King Charles III and Prince Harry during an appearance on the “Today” show. He got confirmation that he was a fan of the show after meeting Harry at a polo match.
I met Harry at a polo, but it wasn’t really a big deal. He walked up to me and said he watched the show. I can’t say if he watches it right now, but he did watch a bit of it in the past.
According to Smith, the queen used to dedicate her Sunday nights to watching the show on a projector.

Smith played the younger version of The Duke of Edinburgh in the first two seasons of the show. He played the role of the real-life character from when he and the queen were married to when Prince Edward was born.
In season 3 and 4 of the show, the role was passed on to a new player, who played Prince Philip.

A friend of mine asked him to sit next to him. He said that Philip asked if he made The Crown. After the first course came out, the second course came out, and the third course came out, my friend couldn’t resist by the end of the meal. Philip was asked if he had watched “The Crown”. He turned around and said, “Don’t be silly.”
