Making time for your fitness will pay off in the long run. When time is short, here are some tips from personal trainers like myself to help you stay on top of your health.
It’s a good idea to get to the gym early.
Getting up early to go to the gym isn’t hard at all. The gym will be less crowded and quieter if you leave early. After your session is over, you will have the entire day ahead of you and you will start to feel better.
It’s time to prepare the night before.
Prepare your bag the night before so you don’t have to worry about getting dressed. You don’t want to waste time searching around in your bag for unneeded items if you only pack the basics.
Your smoothie should be prepared in advance.
Recovery is a vital part of fitness, even when you don’t have a lot of time to work out. You can make a post- workout snack. It’s a good idea to whip it out of the fridge before you go to the gym. If you have to go straight to work after working out, this is important.
You can put your phone in do not disturb mode.
Everything we do is done with our phones. It’s more than just a device for texting. It is easy to get distracted by phone calls, emails and shuffling music. If you want to save time, put your phone in DND mode until your session is over, or just leave it in your gym bag.
You can set a circuit and repeat it.
It is possible to save time by planning what you will do. You can either create your own circuit or ask a personal trainer to make one for you and complete it in 30 minutes or less.
You can join the class.
The 15 to 30 minute high intensity interval training classes burn calories fast. If you do two or three high intensity interval training sessions a week, you will be able to build up your cardiovascular fitness.
High intensity training should be combined with lower intensity exercise to give your body a break.
