You can hear a different kind of music coming from high schools in the area.
Every high school in the city is getting guitar lessons as a result of a partnership between the school district and Pepper Entertainment.
You can hear the strumming of strings in the fine arts hallway at Washington High School.
Cole Simming, who is learning to play the guitar for the first time, says the class is a dream come true.
As soon as he saw the class, Simming wanted to take it and it has been pretty good.
I think they were really excited. Benjamin Harder, assistant band director at Washington High School, said it was difficult going from no experience to playing guitar but that they were able to get them moving quickly.
The class is a hit. Unlike a one-on-one guitar lesson, the course is taught to 25 students at a time.
A group guitar class presents a unique set of challenges, but I think just getting the instruments in students’ hands and getting the information out to them will allow students to learn more on their own in the future.
Simming thinks it helps to learn with them because they teach you not to be embarrassed around other people.
One string at a time is how students are being expanded their knowledge of music.
Simming said that it makes people more knowledgeable and increases their IQ, because they know they have to be able to memorize quickly.
It was fun to have new faces in the band room and show them the joy of music and the great community that we have in this room.
Professional musicians will be brought into the schools to connect with students.
They will be able to learn more about the music industry.
