I’ve wanted to play for FC Goa for a long time. I knew I had to take advantage of the opportunities that came my way.
Two years from now, I will join the club. I am going to play a game in front of a crowd in my own state. I can’t wait to get on the field at Fatorda and finally live my dream. Words can’t convey how much we have missed our 12th man. I can’t wait to experience what it’s like to be on the receiving end of a cheer.
Over the last few months, I have lost count of the number of times I have read “A season to forget for FC Goa”. The truth is not what it appears to be. We don’t want to forget our campaign. We don’t want that to happen again, so we want to remember it throughout the season and campaign.
We try to improve if we do well. We learn and get better if we don’t. We wouldn’t say no if you asked if we wanted to pretend that last season didn’t happen. A lot of people are hungry. We want to get back to where we belong and prove ourselves. We have been determined throughout our pre- season camp. There is a real intensity to training drills, a small-sided game, fitness exercises, and maintenance of diet.
Carlos Pena’s arrival as FC Goa’s new head coach has boosted the team. During his playing days with FCGoa, I watched him. Everyone who played with him had good things to say about him.
The respect for him had only increased after he returned. It’s easy to see why. The past couple of months have been helped by the fact that Coach Pena thinks both as a player and a tactician. He keeps us on our toes with his energy in training.
We have been playing scrimmages to get ourselves match- ready. We played against Velsao and Calangute. We can’t wait to get on the pitch, there seems to be a new energy around the club We will be playing a lot of games in the near future, and I hope you will come and support us.
