The first four shows of the Kings ofThras “The Mega Years” tour have been announced by former members of MEGADETH. Chris Poland is a former member of the band.

“Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!” and “So Far, So Good… So What!” will be performed by the band Kings ofThrasher.

In a new interview, Young was asked if he had received a blessing or a rebuke from Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH. Jeff said they were not concerned. I don’t pay attention to what’s happening. I heard the ‘Rust In Peace’ album a couple of times, and then what you might hear on the radio or in the press, but I haven’t really paid attention.

“For us, this is a celebration of the music that we were all a part of, that we helped create,” he said. It is enjoyable for us to do this.

People told you to do it. We said, “Hey, yes, you’re correct.” This is something we should do. If we included live tracks, he would make money off that. He is putting money in his pocket by promoting albums that fans will buy. A lot of people are going to go back and rediscover that album after this tour.

Young said it was all about positivity. We’re all in this moment and we’re not looking beyond. The comments on Blabbermouth are not being read by us. We know what our intentions are and that’s all. Our intentions are positive. We enjoy playing with one another. We know we are making music. We don’t need to rely on this. You want to give the fans what they want.

Jeff was asked if he thought MEGADETH deserved to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A few years ago, I received a letter from Mustaine. I read the letter after listening to the ‘I Got A Letter’ episode. All the stories are told by me. People can find the back episode of the show if they want to hear all the gory details. They were going to be inducted into the Rock Hall a couple of years later. Perhaps they will. I was wanted to be there by him. I don’t think I would want to share the same energetic space with someone like that.

The cool thing is that we can do this without the toxicity in the room. I don’t know who would have thought it would end this way. We just can’t say no to it, it’s so cool to do. It sounds great. It’s cool to be able to play these songs later in life, because we didn’t have that when we were younger. I don’t think this is happening. I kiss the ground on a daily basis. Chris and I complement each other on the stage.

Rehearsals began earlier in the month in Los Angeles and they recently released a new video in which they talk about the upcoming shows. You can watch the clip below.

There was an interview with Yes! Jeff and I got along well and you can play guitar! The band and crew were always sharing rooms on the tour. We had been spending a lot of time together. I learned a lot from him while I was playing with him. We connected through the making of the upcoming Nick Menza movie about the late Megadeth drummer. I kept in touch with him. A few years ago, we met up at a tribute to a famous musician. We haven’t been completely out of touch with each other.

The idea for King’s of Rust came about after he and Young performed together on stage at Ultimate Jam Night in West Hollywood, California, as part of a special tribute. The last time David and Jeff played together on stage was at the U.K.’s monsters of rock festival in 1988. He said that the KINGS OF THRASH was born from that. It was amazing. It was a lot of fun.

David said that he began to think about a way to perform some of MEGADETH’s classics last year. He said that the idea came to him last autumn. People brought me ‘Killing Is My Business’ records at an autograph show on the east coast. It reminded me that I need to perform this record. Same as “So Far, So Good…” ‘Rust In Peace’ and ‘Peace Sells’ are two special records that didn’t get the attention they deserved. To me, it was my goal. I said, “You know what?” Bring these things up on the stage and play them.

After MEGADETH, Jeff said he forgot how to play the band’s songs. It’s a deep dive when you join the band. You have to live that music all the time in order to understand what it is. He did that. He moved on when the job ended for him.

He has been doing a lot of work on the show. He is working with us to get through this. He and Chris Poland are working on something.

David said that the intention is not to make his former bandmates feel bad.

He said that the celebration was not a reprisal. This is a great time. This is a happy time to celebrate these records. We go at it with a lot of fun. It would be fun to play these records. We are doing it. This celebration is supposed to bring people together. That was always my role in Megadeth. Dave used to call me “The Ambassador”, and I was always that guy. Let me continue my role in the community and have good will.

After the already announced dates in October, I think there will be more shows for Kings of Rust, according to the person. Let’s pop four of these up and see if anyone pays attention. People are calling, the promoter is calling, and people want to see it. It is intriguing. It’s nice. This is a deep dive into the history and catalog of the band that may not be performed elsewhere. “Hey, we’ll do it.” We’re qualified, that’s for sure. Our history with the group is legit. It’s enjoyable, man. I like it.

There is a lot of deep stuff on “Killing Is My Business”. There are some figures and grooves that come out in a live setting that are so hip. There’s a sort of R&B vibe to some of the rhythms.

The songs “The Skull Beneath The Skin” and “Look Down The Cross” were written very slowly. They were really nice. One of the things we want to do is bring out the sleazy, slinky, greasy grooves that are in there. Fred is helping with that. People are going to like what they hear.
