
Dominic Annacone died at 86 years old.
Dom Annacone was involved in a lot of different things in his life. Steve Annacone said his father was into it even if he didn’t do it. He ran while he was jogging. He was into exercising. He jumped a rope during his workout. Every day, he would jump rope. When he went out on the jump rope, you would hear a thump, thump, thump. Every day, he did 10,000 jump ropes. He could do it. He was that way. He was extremely focused and organized. Dominic Annacone died after a long illness. The man was 86. The youngest son of the Annacones was Dominic. After graduating from New Paltz, Annacone went on to earn a doctorate in educational administration. Annacone was a figure in the East End for a long time. He was the principal of the Sag Harbor high school before becoming the district’s leader. He worked as a curriculum consultant before becoming the Wainscott School District’s leader. He taught at the old Ramey Air Force Base. Annacone and Catherine played tennis at the park in Sag Harbor. Steve and his brother Paul pursued careers in tennis. Pete Sampras and Roger Federer were both coached by Paul, who went on to become a player and a coach. He is a tennis commentator. Steve became Paul’s professional coach at the beginning of his career and is still a coach today. Paul Annacone said that his family picked up tennis. They took us to the courts when they didn’t have enough money for babysitters. Annacone is survived by Steven and Paul from his marriage to Catherine, as well as his granddaughters, grandsons, and long time partner, Mary Stone. There will be a viewing and service at the Yardley Pino Funeral Home.
