The people of St. Patrick Episcopal Church will gather in the center of the labyrinth and leave at the end of the evening with a number of pieces played.

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church was founded by Sandy Artzberger.

The community of Pagosa Springs is invited to attend a quiet time at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church.

The violinist known to many of us in Pagosa Springs will play a number of pieces as we walk the labyrinth, as we gather together in the center for readings, reflection and prayer, as we leave. The theme of the event is new beginnings.

In fourth grade, he began playing the violin with a focus on classical music performing at local events. In her 20s, she began to play and sing pop music and rock n’ roll. In her late 20s, marriage, work and children changed her focus and she played no instruments for 25 years until she moved to Pagosa Springs.

Life in Pagosa gave her more time to explore her interests and she began to look back at her childhood. The violin was taken out of the closet in 2008 and she began to relearn the instrument. Since that time, Pagosa Springs has given many opportunities to play and perform, and has allowed a violinist to grow.

Many organizations and people in Pagosa for their encouragement, such as Curtains Up Pagosa, the high school music department, the Pagosa Springs Community Band, and Sally and Jessica, whom she plays with in the Night Song Trio.

Music can be used as a vehicle for communication between peoples. It’s a way to provide joy to our daily lives. She said that playing the violin brings joy and spiritual fulfillment to her life and her hope is that her playing brings joy to others, and in the case of the “New Beginnings” labyrinth evening, it provides others with a window for spiritual growth.

The labyrinth doesn’t follow a logical path to the center and out, so the mind relaxes and we move into new dimensions of thought. The music will make the effect better. Go to St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church if it rains.
