Meet Billy Reid, a famous fashion designer who happens to live in Alabama

There is a city in Alabama called Florence. Billy Reid, an award-winning fashion designer, is one of the people you might run into while walking down historic Court Street.

The flagship store is located in the heart of downtown and features tall glass windows and a black exterior. After growing up in and out of his mother’s clothing store in south Louisiana, Reid adapted a keen eye for fashion and design. He decided to pursue fashion after failing to get a degree in physical education.

He attended the Art Institute of Dallas where he studied and later worked at the store. He helped launch the Greg Norman Collection after moving to California from the south.

BillyReid was started in 1998 by the designer.

It happened three years later. The move away from New York and to his wife’s hometown of Florence was the result of that. The Reids are known for their rich music history and orange pineapple ice cream.

After a few years in the business, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. gave him a title. If you’re lucky, you can find his clothes at a local thrift shop in Florence.

The designer is from the south and hopes to inspire a new generation of people. When a place gets a bad rap, it’s usually because of the south’s ability to produce artists, musicians, and even rocket scientists.

He creates pieces that are a staple in anyone’s wardrobe. If the person is 22 or older, they offer a timeless look. BillyReid’s pieces are some that never go out of style.
