Derek Lunsford’s Path To Men’s Open
Lunsford began putting on a lot of weight.
Lunsford was a guest poser at the Pittsburgh Pro and was given the chance to compare his body to that of Men’s Open competitors. As Lunsford made significant changes to his body, this put many on notice. The discussions began about the champ changing divisions.
Lunsford was not qualified for the Men’s Open and there were concerns he wouldn’t appear in the Olympia. It would be difficult to cut down to compete without an invitation. He won’t have to worry about that as he prepares to attack the Men’s Open division.
Big Ramy is the favorite to win the title again. He is a perfect fit for both size and conditioning. If Ramy comes in shredded, it will be hard to take him down. Lunsford will look next to the top competitors in the world and there are many different opinions on that.
There will be answers to those questions in December as Lunsford is invited to appear in the Men’s Open division.
