It is possible to get out in nature and reset the nervous system during this time.
If you have spent any time on the internet in the last year, you may have seen the #Hot Girl Walk.
The trend is all about making time for a form of exercise, like walking, while also thinking positive thoughts, and it’s popularised by US college student Mia Lind.
Emma Maidment, a yoga teacher and co-owner of Flow State Studios, helped us set our intentions for a Hot Girl Walk.

The name doesn’t do it justice, because really what this walk is, is a mindfulness walk.
She says that walking is a great form of exercise to help regulate our nervous system, get out in nature, and breathe in fresh air. In a world that is largely the opposite of that, it is essentially calming our system.
It is an opportunity to bring our full attention into a single moment. How often do you do that during the day? Probably not a lot.
There are three mental tasks on the hot girl walk. The first thing to think of is what you are grateful for, then how hot you are and finally, your goals.
According to Maidment, these thoughts help to give out positive energy and change our brain processes.
She tells them to think about the things that they are putting their attention into. The energy of the body is what you place your attention on.
We are in the driver’s seat of our own brain, but if we are constantly bogged down with negative thoughts, and that energy is all we give out, we will not get back.
Maidment says we can change our experience in this world by being aware of our thoughts. What we are going to attract and what we are not going to attract.
