Queen Elizabeth II will lie in state at Buckingham Palace. Jean Ariyoshi was one of the many people watching the coverage. She hosted the monarch on one of the queen’s trips with only four days’ notice. Ariyoshi’s Nuuanu Valley home is tucked up in a tree line ridge and The Conversation was able to recall some of her memories.
