The 000JR-10E Shawn Mendes Custom Signature Edition is a partnership between Martin guitar and Shawn Mendes.
Every detail of this guitar was designed and created in collaboration with Mendes for his official signature model, and was inspired by the pop star’s go-to vintage Martin and featuring classic Mendes imagery. The new guitar is eco-friendly, and it sounds amazing. This edition comes with a gig bag made from recycled ocean plastic and a 14-fret instrument, all of which are certified by the 100% Forest Stewardship Council. It is the first time that a Martin guitar has been used with a gig bag made from recycled ocean plastic. The retail price of $799 is accessible for avid collectors.
The creation of this guitar with Martin has been a dream of mine. The Shawn Foundation’s initiatives are supported by the signature we created together, and I am proud of it. I can’t wait to share my guitar with my fans.
A Shawn Mendes signature guitar is incomplete without some personal design details. Shawn had a tattoo on his right hand that inspired the laser etched swallow. Each instrument comes with a special label with the Shawn Mendes Foundation logo. Shawn has his signature on the top of the fretboard.
The Jr. size and 000-body depth make the guitar very comfortable for any player. It can be used for strumming on the couch, on the beach or around a campfire. It also sounds great on stage with Fishman sonitone electronics included. This is a guitar player who will never stop playing it.
There is a sample of Mendes’ lyrics hidden inside the guitar. They could find laser-etched on a brace under the bridge. “We lay under the same stars,” or “You’ll never be alone” are some of the phrases.
As part of the partnership, Martin Guitars will support the goal of making music accessible to everyone. The Shawn Mendes Foundation is presenting the Wonder of Music Program at The Hospital for Sick Children. SickKids, affiliated with the University of Toronto, is Canada’s most research intensive hospital and the largest center dedicated to improving children’s health in Mendes’ home state. The Wonder of Music Program aims to fund music therapy activities that are accessible to young patients at the Toronto hospital, with activities including first exposure to music, heartbeat songs for families of patients, and lullabies.
The rest of the Wonder: The World Tour dates in North America, The UK and Europe were canceled in July. The pop star had to cancel three weeks of dates to focus on his mental health.
One of three male artists ever to score four No. 1 albums by the age of 22 years old, Mendes did it with his most recent album, Wonder.
