Husson Football wins first game of the season in dramatic fashion

Alfred defeated Husson for a third week in a row.

They were looking for their first win of the year.

The first points of the game were scored by Husson thanks to a 33 yard field goal by the kicker.

Jimmy Brush ran for a 1-yard touchdown in the second quarter to give Alfred the lead.

In the middle of the second quarter, Husson was down by 7, but they were able to get back in it.

Nic Visser threw a two-yard strike to his tight end at the end of the first half to tie the game.

Jon Bell ran 20 yards for a touchdown in the third.

The Alfred player who made the tackle on Bell was disqualified from the game.

The visitors stood tall and kept Husson out of the end zone. By the end of the third quarter, the score was 10-10).

The 4th started with a bang.

Visser launched a rocket and found Jon Bell in the end zone. The lead changed hands 17-10).

With 7 minutes left in the game, Husson gave the ball to the player who coughed it up, but a closer look shows he may have been down before he lost control of the ball.

Alfred went down the field to level the game at 17 all.

It was the kind of situation that every football player wants to be in.

Everybody thought, you know, this is what we play football for, when they scored. We have been dreaming of these moments since we were five years old, throwing the ball in the backyard and then going to win the game for your boys. If we block this up, this is the game right here. Husson drove down the field with the clock in his hand.

With the clock showing just under a minute to play, Husson handed the ball back to Garnett, who was unstoppable.

It was a bit of relief, but now that we have our identity, we just keep pushing forward, you know what I mean?

It’s week by week. We have some inexperience and so we are gaining it each week. That is really important. The process is a one. Nat Clark said that he thinks the team will be great at the end of the year.

Springfield College and Husson will play next week.
