On Saturday, Michael Scotto of Hoopshype broke the news that the Los Angeles Lakers had finally realized they are a little short on wings and had brought in Jeremy Lamb, Miye Oni, and Shabazz Muhammad for workouts. He followed that up with a report that several players had worked out for the team.
Normally this would be a normal time of year as teams look to fill out their final roster spots. There is one problem in this particular case. Thomas denied he ever worked out like that.
It makes sense because the Lakers have already had Thomas on their team twice, once when they traded for his contract to clear cap space for James, and once when the team was ravaged by health and safety. It would be weird if they had to see him in an open gym to see what he could bring.
I’m not sure what to say. I tried to think of possible reasons for someone to lie about a free agent workout, but my brain hurts, so we’ll just chalk it up to a workout by a different player.
Do any of these names mean anything to you for the final training roster spot? Don’t hesitate to speak in the comments.
