The show needs to continue. Despite the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the fashion industry decided to go ahead with London Fashion Week. The fashion week is more subdued this year.

The social events have been put off until after Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday, September 19th, but some major designers have pulled out. The British Fashion Council’s chief executive said that the fashion shows could not be moved because they were part of a global fashion calendar.

Smaller designers don’t have the same flexibility because they don’t have the financial power of larger brands. They have been paying tribute to the queen. The day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral has led to the postponement of many shows. The fashion week opened with a black first look in line with royal mourning protocol.

Sky News reported that the show opened with a somber and solitary silhouette. Queen Elizabeth II’s upcoming collection includes many of the colors she liked to wear, according to the Irish designer, who has styled Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson.
