According to the company, Apple’s new devices are designed to help you be more adventurous outdoors, become a better content creator, and keep yourself alive.
The vibe I got after testing the new products was that they were top-of-the-line. Many will feel the new offerings make up for the expensive price.
The Apple Watch SE, Series 8, and Ultra are three of the new watch models that Apple is releasing. As a journalist who focuses on lifestyle products, I’m going to home in on the most expensive ones, like the Apple Watch Ultra and the iPhone 14 Pro.
The Apple watch is Ultra.
The Apple Watch Ultra is made of 49mm titanium and has a rugged look. It has all the features other Apple Watches have, but it is able to handle extreme weather.
The left side of the Apple Watch Ultra is covered in a color called “international orange” and has a “action button” that can be changed. It is a hardware addition that makes the watch easier to use. By pressing the physical button, you can track workout intervals, start up a built-in diving computer, or set up a stopwatch.
Anyone from hikers to people living in dense urban areas can use the waypoints feature to accurately document where they’ve been and retrace their route if they get lost. The working of the function felt intuitive even though I didn’t go into the woods to try it out. If you push the action button, a pin will be dropped on the location you’re at, and a scroll of the crown on the watch’s right side will take you to the previous point you dropped. You can map the route you’ve taken with the backtrack function in the action button app.
Many people don’t worry about getting lost in the wilderness on a regular basis because the Apple Watch Series 8 requires more manual maneuvering without the action button.
In a noisy environment, the Apple Watch Ultra has an upgraded microphone system to pick up your voice for clear phone calls, and a new speaker that can blast a loud emergency sirens. The demonstrator at the presentation said it wasn’t loud enough to be tested. The Series 8 has a new sensor that can be used to detect a car crash.
Along with older features for tracking sleep, ECG, heart rate, and blood oxygen, both watch models added two sensors, one on the back of the device and the other inside and behind the display. By wearing the watch all the time, women can track their ovulation cycles and decide on the best time to get pregnant. I don’t want to wear a device on my wrist to sleep. To give up so much data and control to a piece of technology made me think of Black Mirror.
36 hours of battery life, or 60 hours on a low power setting, can be found in the Apple Watch Ultra.

Many of the new features are focused on saving lives. The satellite service for the iPhone 14s will be available in November. Even without cellular data, the phones can make emergency calls. If you get in an accident, they have a crash detection sensor.
Other cool features include setting up multiple lock screens and taking better photos in low light. The model who joined me in the photo exclaimed, “Look, it can focus on both of us.” The thing did. In a dim-lit room, I captured another model’s face with cameras on both of their phones. The three cameras balanced the purple and brown colors to show the person clearly.

If you listen to music and need to switch to another app, the music app will be automatically shifted to the island. Changing songs or pausing the music can be done later on. The camera system is important to the success of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The main wide camera for the iPhone 13 Pro is 48MIPs, which is 12MIPs higher than the previous one.
The Always-On display for the new models dims the screen instead of completely turning it off, so users can see essential information such as the time, date, and temperature without tapping the screen.
