Live updates: Mourners in line to see queen undeterred by 24-hour wait in the cold

The accessible line to view the queen’s lying in state has been permanently closed.

The culture department said that it reached full capacity on Saturday. The queue is closed to new entrants due to demand.

People with health conditions were able to use the queue as an access route.

The Prime Minister of Australia signed a book of Condolence for the Queen.

He wrote, “We are thankful to be here paying our respects to the Queen for her service to duty, faith, family and the Commonwealth.”

President Joe Biden and his wife will be in London for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday.

White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan and several other administration officials boarded Air Force One with the Bidens.

They are expected to land in London at 9:30PM. There is an hour and a half time.

He brought his daughter to Buckingham Palace because he wanted to honor the queen.

Matt Hillier said, “For a lot of people, this is the first opportunity to come by and pay their respects.”

More than a dozen people were taken to hospital as they waited in line to see the queen’s coffin.

The main challenge is the cold night time temperatures.

Around 600 people have been treated by it since the period of national mourning began.

The Metropolitan Police have been thanked by King Charles III for their work and support.

The force said Friday that it will be the biggest security operation it has ever done, as kings and queens, prime ministers and presidents from across the globe come together to pay their respects.

The number of police officers on the streets of London will be the largest in the force’s history, according to the deputy assistant commissioner.

The manager of The Pizza Express on Panton Street said they have been swamped with hungry mourners for days. They will be open later on Monday at 1 p.m.

She said they were expecting a very large crowd.

Workers are less sure about the situation.

One of the workers shrugged as he was asked how he would get to the shop. He asked who knew.

President Joe Biden, kings and queens from across Europe, and leaders of Commonwealth nations are expected to attend the funeral of the queen.

Spain’s King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, as well as the previous Spanish king and queen, Juan Carlos andSofia, have confirmed that they are attending. Queen Margrethe II and her heir will be at the event.

The police official wouldn’t say how the leaders would get to the abbey.

An estimated 500 foreign leaders and heads of state are expected to attend the queen’s state funeral on Monday.

She became India’s first president to hail from an indigenous community when she took office in July. One of the largest tribes in India, the Santhal tribe, has one of the most remote villages in the country.

The election of Murmu to the largely ceremonial role was considered significant because of the poor and marginalized nature of the tribe.

Before India gained independence in 1947, the U.K. had a relationship with India that dated back hundreds of years.

The soldiers are preparing for the queen’s funeral at Windsor Castle.

The Grenadier Guards, one of the oldest units in the British army, were seen next to a hearse in the early hours of Saturday.

The coffin of the queen will be taken to Windsor, a town 30 miles southwest of London, after the funeral service at the abbey.

The Long Walk will be lined with members of the armed forces as the hearse travels to St. George’s Chapel.

The king and prince made a surprise visit to the mourners waiting in line.

The new monarch and his son stopped off at the Albert Embankment to shake hands and talk to people.

Some entrances and exits for tube stations near Buckingham Palace are already closing in anticipation of a complete shutdown of service on Monday for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

A steady stream of mourners, many bearing flowers, have been heading for the palace across the street from this one.

There is a souvenir stand near Trafalgar Square.

He said he had started selling fresh flowers in addition to the usual flags and fridge magnets with the late queen’s image.

The bouquets are cheap but people like them.

He said that he would be open on Saturday and Sunday but not Monday.

On Saturdays and Sundays, King Charles III has a busy schedule of meetings with politicians and army officials at Buckingham Palace.

He is going to lunch with the governor-generals of the Commonwealth in the afternoon. The Prime Ministers of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Bahamas and Jamaica will be meeting with him later today.

The palace is used for meeting the most important people in the world and the 1844 room is used for that.

There is a long line of people waiting to pay their respects to the queen.

The weather service shows temperatures for regions across the U.K., including one for “The Queue.”

Thousands of people are waiting in a line that goes from southeast London to the palace.

The skies above Switzerland were illuminated with pictures of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The tribute was created by a renowned Swiss light artist.

Soccer is Britain’s favorite national sport. There were flights that were canceled out of respect for Queen Elizabeth II.

The United Kingdom will have come to a near-stand still by the time of the monarch’s funeral on Monday.

The cancelations seemed too high a price to pay in a country grappling with a cost of living crisis.

Dan O’Brien, who is eight months pregnant, told NBC News that when he was told all appointments were canceled, he cried.

The man was arrested after he tried to get to the queen’s coffin.

The Public Order Act prohibits disruptive and dangerous protests after 10 p.m. The force made a statement.

The live video feed of the queen was briefly cut off during the incident.

The state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will be attended by the Chinese Vice President.

Several British lawmakers were censured by Beijing last year after they criticized China’s treatment of Muslim Uyghurs. Beijing denied the accusations.

The public are being helped by the fire brigade as they line up to see the queen’s body.

The U.K. government said that it would take 24 hours to see the queen.

According to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the line was in the park.

Entry to the queue will be stopped if the park gets too full.

The Japanese emperor and empress left for Britain on Saturday to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who was considered a model for Japan’s monarchy.

Naruhito and Masako are going to Britain for the first time as emperor and empress. The queen had invited them to visit after Naruhito ascended to the throne.

Japanese emperors don’t attend funeral for their own parents because of a belief in the Shinto religion that says death is not good.

The decision for the emperor and empress to attend the queen’s funeral shows the importance of the royal family. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was attended by the former Emperor Akihito. In 1975, Queen Elizabeth went to Japan.
