Zakk said that the first time he listened to Black Sabbath’s music as a kid, it terrified him.

In a new interview with Revolver, Wylde talks about the moment he first came into contact with the Prince of Darkness.

He says he was in an art class. My friend Tommy had a sculpture of a jawless skull, which is the Black Label skull now: Skully. There was a jawless skull with a lightning bolt that said Black Sabbath 666.

I was surprised, what is that? He said that it was just a rock band his brother listens to. I thought it was pretty cool. I wanted to find out what it was. I was at the mall with my mom and she told me that I could get a record. I bought We Sold Our Soul for Rock ‘n’ Roll, but we know that it is a double album.

I hadn’t heard a Sabbath song before, says Wylde. I put the record on and I was terrified the whole time I listened to it.

When I first put the needle down on it, I was a catholic, but halfway through the second album, I became a Satanist. I converted back to Catholicism at the end of the album so that I could thank God for Black Sabbath.

If you would have told me when I was 15 years old that I would be on a record with one of my idols, I would have been so happy.

It is beyond an honor to be on the record with all of them, and playing guitar behind him.
