The late-night show’s house band performed a rousing version of last year’s single “Down” with St.Vincent in attendance. The performer showcased her electric guitar chops with her partner.
The album Daddy’s Home was released in May of last year. The musician starred in the film The Nowhere Inn, in which she played a touring musician who was the subject of a documentary film.
St.Vincent took over as house band leader for a week on The Late Show in July. The musician publicly urged the Dallas Cowboys to book her to perform the National Anthem at a future game. They have never taken me up on my offer to sing the National Anthem at a Cowboys game, the singer said after Stephen Colbert asked if he had ever sung the National Anthem at a Cowboys game.
St.Vincent covered Lipps Inc.’s disco classic, “Funky Town”, for the soundtrack for the movie “Minions: The Rise of Gru”.
