La Marcha sound celebrates cultural connection

Bakersfield, Calif. is located in the state of California. A group of Bakersfield musicians came together as a band to play cumbia, salsa, merengue, and bachata music. They are well-known in the community and perform original music across the state.

The band’s sound has been heard by other musicians. The Red Hot Chili Peppers gave their blessing to La Marcha to remake their 1991 hit “under the bridge” into a Spanish song. You can listen to La Marcha’s cover of “under the bridge” on Apple Music.

The band will be playing live at Shenanigans Irish Pub on September 16th. They will play on the Frontier Stage at the fair.
