The Fashion and Style Behind Boca’s September/October Cover
The Fashion and Style Behind Boca’s September/October Cover

It is not an everyday occurrence for us to be photographed in the editorial pages of a magazine. It was the biggest surprise of my life when I found out that I was on the cover of Boca magazine with two other inspiring cover girls.

It was special to spend the day together at historic landmark The Addison and get all dressed up with makeup and hair professionally done. The connection with the entire team was one of DiRocco’s favorite parts of the photo shoot. It began with hair and make-up. Everyone was having fun, happy to be there, and very appreciative of the moment. It wasn’t a typical day for me, but it was great to spend the day with these wonderful people.

We had the best day at the photo shoot, but we didn’t know it at the time. The Boca magazine Art Director gave each of us the responsibility of selecting our dresses to showcase an occasion. Our dresses said otherwise. We all like to wear bold one-color dresses with feminine details.

Virgin said that the dress was perfect in every way. The ruffled off-the-shoulder top, the pockets, and the slit up the center of the body were all wonderful. It was a surprise dress. She chose DiRocco in an elegant luncheon look because of the fun, swingy silhouette of the model. I like a full-skirted dress with lots of movement. I like to twirl on my way to an event. When I wore the turquoise jersey dress with cascading flowers, I found it to be elegant and comfortable, even though it was a happy color.

On a hot Florida summer day, the cover of us jumping and sharing a good laugh summed up our authentic energy. It seems like social season is well underway, but it also feels more intentional andbullient. An atmosphere of gratitude was present at the grand opening of Sixty Vines and the Boca Ballroom Battle. Human connections are stronger than ever, thanks to in-person events. We need to connect on a personal level and unite as a group. Our impact on the community is unlimited. While we work together to raise money for our local nonprofits, let’s take the time to enjoy ourselves.
